The Heart

We are a Spanish-Italian couple living in Lisbon, where we met.

More than 20 years ago, after living in different cities in Europe we started to feel at home here and some time later we decided to buy a flat in a typical neighborhood, full of everyday beauty.

During the remodeling of our home, we got some interest in this creative process. We enjoyed  combining the authentic and traditional elements with the comfort of modernity and the results were really worthy.

After some years, we were lucky enough to find and buy a very old and degraded building in the old Alfama zone.

Because we love this city so much, we made a conscious effort to preserve the building and the local architectural features as much as possible.

For the interior decoration, we visited much more antiques and flea markets than Ikea, because we decided to use traditional materials like the Lioz marble (entirely made of fossils) for the kitchen and bathroom, and the original portuguese tiles of the 1920s and even XVII century; we restored antique beds, dressers and basins. We used natural stones that are traditionally used in portuguese convents, and all the stones that were broken got replaced from other old demolitions.

Our purpose was to offer beauty, comfort and authenticity enriching the experience of  those who want to live for a few days in Lisbon.
